The name Gameoreum is derived from the Jeju dialect word 'game,' meaning a large cauldron, and is also known by the Hanja name Buak. Although it stands at a modest elevation of 372.2 meters, Gameoreum features a charming, small crater at its summit, and the hike to the top takes less than a minute. From the peak, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the various oreums scattered across the western mid-mountain region of Jeju.

Han Dong-hwan Haejangseong
