Gwakji Seashell Mound

Designated as Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Monument No. 41, Gwakji Seashell Mound is located in a cultivated area about 1 km inland from the northern coast of Jeju Island. Spanning an impressive area of approximately 50,000㎡, it stands as the largest shell mound on Jeju Island. The site features cultural layers over 1 meter thick, spanning from the late Bronze Age through the Joseon Dynasty, with its primary period of activity dating back to the Tamna Kingdom (the Three Kingdoms and Unified Silla periods).
