Gwangryeong Mandarin Trees
Designated as Jeju Island Monument No. 26, the Gwangryeong Mandarin Trees stand approximately 6 meters tall and are estimated to be about 250 years old. These trees are a rare variety of indigenous mandarin known as 'Dongjeong-gyul,' an endangered species. Local villagers fondly refer to them as 'Donjin-gyul' or 'Jin-gyul,' as historical records indicate these precious citrus fruits were once presented as royal tributes to the kings during the Joseon Dynasty.
