Aewol Signaling Site

Located in Yeondiwat, Aewol-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, the Aewol Signaling Site was a beacon tower belonging to the Aewol-jin garrison during the Joseon Dynasty and is designated as a Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Monument. Built atop a hill approximately 450 meters from the coastline, it stands as one of the relatively large-scale beacon towers among the various sites found across Jeju Island. Historically, it served as a vital communication hub, exchanging signals with Gonae Bongsudae to the east and Gwiduck Yeondae to the west, offering a fascinating glimpse into the island's ancient communication systems.
