hanmosal

hanmosal is a vast sandy beach stretching along the coastline of Pyoseon-myeon, also known as Dangchae or Pyoseon Beach. This site holds profound historical significance as a place of tragedy, serving as a site of massacres during the Jeju April 3 Incident that claimed the lives of many residents from the Pyoseon-myeon and Namwon-myeon areas—particularly affecting families seeking refuge. Today, the area is home to the Pyoseon Folk Village and the Pyoseon-myeon Library; the open space at the entrance of the library stands as a solemn reminder of where the large-scale massacres once took place.
