18th Jeju Haenyeo Festival
The 18th Jeju Haenyeo Festival is held to preserve and pass down the traditional culture of Haenyeo (female divers), which is recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. Hosted across various venues including the Haenyeo Museum, Gujwa-eup, and Sanjicheon Gallery, the festival features a diverse lineup of official events and performances, including the opening ceremony, the 8th Haenyeo Day commemoration, traditional Haenyeo celebratory performances, street parades, and ritual shamanistic ceremonies (Haenyeo-gut).
