Every early October, Jeju hosts the Tamna Cultural Festival, celebrating the unique and vibrant traditions of the island. This year’s festival featured demonstrations of Jeju’s shamanic rites, including the Jeju Great Gut and Chilmeoridang Yeongdeung Gut. Known as the “Island of 18,000 Gods,” Jeju is rich with legends and spirits. Historically, Jeju’s residents have turned to sacred beings to face the island’s harsh environment.
