Located 24km west of Jeju City, Rashin-dong is a historic village nestled within the administrative district of Gwideok 2-ri. The area holds a deep historical significance dating back to 1212 during the 7th year of King Hejong's reign in the Goryeo Dynasty, when Gwideok-ri was renamed Gwideok-hyeon. Historically, the village was renowned for its high-quality freshwater sources; residents carefully managed their water usage, distinguishing between supplies for drinking and laundry. Notably, the spring known as Gumdeul-aegi-mul was prized for its purity, used primarily for drinking and bathing.
