Namdu Signaling Site

Designated as a Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Monument, the Namdu Signaling Site is a Joseon Dynasty communication facility perched atop a coastal cliff. It was used to transmit signals during emergencies or enemy invasions by communicating with the signaling sites in Jobu to the east and Aewol to the west. Unlike traditional beacon stations typically located on mountain peaks, the Namdu Signaling Site is uniquely characterized by its placement on a high elevation close to the shoreline.
